Is your hair growing too slowly for your taste? It is possible to accelerate their growth with some natural remedies. Elodie-Joy Jaubert, author of “J’aime mes cheveux” published by La Plage and of the blog sirenebio.fr tells us more!

You dream of a long hair but your hair is slow to grow? You already regret your new short haircut and would like to boost your hair growth? Whatever the reason, you will find natural allies, of choice, on the side of plants. It’s up to you to test these different natural remedies and see what works best for you!

Caffeine is a well-known beauty secret for Brazilian women to make their hair grow, according to Elodie-Joy Jaubert. The principle is simple: you pour a dose of organic quality soluble coffee into your usual bottle of shampoo. We let it dissolve for a week and then use the shampoo as usual. “Caffeine stimulates hair growth and limits hair loss. In addition, the small coffee beans are a good exfoliant for the scalp and further promote this growth. It’s really top notch!”, comments the specialist.

The essential oil of St Thomas Bay

Some essential oils promote hair growth. This is the case with St. Thomas Bay EO, ginger EO, clove EO, mint EO or Ylang Ylang EO, which stimulate the blood flow of the scalp. The principle is simple: “You pour a drop in the palm of your hand with your usual dose of shampoo and you wash your hair with it. You can repeat the operation twice a week. But essential oils are not suitable for everyone. They have many contraindications and can be dangerous. It is important not to do anything with them”, warns the author. So, if you are pregnant or sensitive, opt for another natural remedy.

Mint floral water

Floral waters, also called hydrolats, are a good alternative to essential oils. They are obtained after distillation of the plant and allow you to take advantage of its virtues, to a lesser extent than essential oils but without any particular restrictions. To stimulate hair growth, certain floral waters are particularly indicated. Thus, “you can spray a mint hydrolate at the roots of your hair to promote blood circulation and allow better hair nutrition. Green tea floral water is a good antioxidant, rich in minerals, which is also very good, as is ginger hydrosol. You can keep them in the refrigerator to increase the freshness and stimulate the scalp,” advises Elodie-Joy Jaubert.

Brewer’s yeast

Brewer’s yeast is known to strengthen nails and hair and improve their growth. It promotes the synthesis of keratin, which is the main component of nails and hair. To take advantage of its benefits, you can take brewer’s yeast capsules according to the manufacturer’s instructions, in the form of a cure for two months.

Coconut milk

Coconut milk is rich in fatty acids, proteins and minerals… Enough to nourish the hair to ensure its growth! “It is an antibacterial and antifungal which purifies the ground, hydrates and nourishes the scalp. We apply the coconut milk on the hair and we let pose during 30 mn before rinsing”, explains Elodie-Joy Jaubert.

Castor oil

One of the many virtues of castor oil is to boost hair growth. Choose it organic, cold-pressed and pure. Then, simply pour it into the palm of your hand and apply it all over your head, massaging it well into the roots. Cover your head with a cap or a bathing cap for example and leave it on ideally all night. Rinse the next morning. Repeat the application three times a week for a month and then stop for a few weeks before starting again.

With these natural remedies, you should soon see your hair gain a few extra inches.
