What are wrinkles?

  • Aging wrinkles

Aging wrinkles are the direct result of skin slackening. Their appearance is of course linked to age, but also to other aging factors, such as repeated exposure to the sun without protection.

Among others, there are wrinkles formed from the corners of the mouth to the chin (the “bitterness folds” or lip and chin folds), wrinkles around the lips (the “sun folds” or periorbital wrinkles), neck wrinkles, etc.

Eating well to prevent wrinkles

To prevent the appearance of wrinkles, first of all, don’t smoke and don’t abuse alcohol. Smoking and excessive sunlight are really bad for your skin.

Then, it is necessary to hydrate regularly, and therefore to drink a lot of water. You need at least two liters a day, preferably non-carbonated, or at least alternating carbonated water and fresh water. Green tea, rich in antioxidants, is also very suitable.

A diet rich in fruits and vegetables, without too many fatty foods, in short a healthy and balanced diet is recommended: vitamins, antioxidants, polyphenols, flavonoids… Everything is there.

Avoid commercial diets, which make your body and your skin yo-yo. The best diet is “no diet”, but eat well, every day and without abuse. Get some fresh air, don’t stay cooped up. And sleep well! Lack of sleep harms the skin.

Take care of your skin

If skin aging is a part of life, we can nevertheless slow down the process by taking care of our skin on a daily basis.

Gentle cleansing and moisturizing

Cleanse your skin well and use a moisturizer regularly. For maximum effectiveness, apply it gently with small circular movements around the eyes. Insist on deeper wrinkles such as those on the forehead or corners of the eyes. If necessary, repeat the operation several times a day.

Prepare your own natural mask against wrinkles

Here are three recipes for effective anti-wrinkle masks that you can make yourself with simple ingredients :

Cucumber anti-wrinkle mask

This gentle cucumber mask is applied around the eyes to smooth the skin and reduce wrinkles.

Ingredients:

  • one cucumber (organic of course)
  • two tablespoons of plain yogurt

Preparation:

  • Cut the cucumber into small cubes and put them in a blender to make a smooth paste.
  • Add the plain yoghurt.
  • Mix the yogurt carefully with the cucumber paste.

This cucumber mask can be stored in the refrigerator for three to four days.

Application:

Apply as a compress to the area around the eyes for about 10 minutes.

Rinse thoroughly with cold water, then apply a nourishing cream.

Repeat every other day.

An anti-wrinkle avocado mask

Thanks to its exceptional concentration of vitamins D and E, the avocado is a powerful ally against wrinkles that stimulates the production of collagen and softens wrinkles and fine lines.

The ingredients

  • a ripe organic avocado
  • a few drops of almond oil

The preparation

  • Mash the avocado to a paste.
  • Add the almond oil and mix well.

The application

  • Apply to the eye contour area.
  • Leave on for 15 minutes.
  • Rinse with cold water.

A smoothing and firming egg mask

Egg whites are rich in vitamins B2 and B12, which are very useful for countering the degradation of cell membranes and helping the skin to protect itself from UV rays. It makes it firmer and smoother.

  • two egg whites

  • Simply beat the egg whites in a bowl.

The application

  • Rub the mixture on the skin.
