Essential oils, floral waters and vegetable oils are already part of your bathroom. Natural beauty secrets can also be found in accessories.

Natural cosmetics are increasingly used by men and women who wish to avoid endocrine disruptors, irritating compounds and present in industrial cosmetics.

Using organic and eco-responsible cosmetics or making your own products allows you to avoid products that are harmful to your skin and to protect the planet. But do you know the composition of your beauty accessories?

Commercial accessories are not always spared in terms of harmfulness, so adopt natural and ecological products that protect the skin and present little risk of allergy. They are durable, reusable, made from ecological and organic materials, and they also reduce your waste and your impact on the planet.

Make-up remover squares made of organic fabric

Cotton comes from a crop that is produced with a large amount of pesticides.  Choosing organic is therefore essential. According to Julien Kaibeck1, an expert in slow cosmetics, the best thing to do is to buy them in fabric, because 20 makeup remover squares made of eucalyptus fibers represent the equivalent of about 6,000 disposable cotton squares! These figures speak volumes about this product that is used on a daily basis and fills up your bathroom’s wastebasket unnecessarily.

The organic fabric make-up remover squares are used in the same way as disposable cotton pads. They are made of organic cotton, bamboo or eucalyptus fibers. Pleasant, they remove gently make-up. They can be easily washed by hand or machine and can be reused between 300 and 500 times. An excellent ecological and economical alternative!

Konjac Sponge

Discovered in Japan, Konjac is a fiber that comes from an Asian plant. Traditionally used as food, it is also found in the form of sponge. Made by hand, it is 100% vegetable and biodegradable. It is used for skin cleansing with or without soap. These fibers are delicate and tighten the pores of all skin types.

Some precautions are to be taken in order not to damage it. The sponge should be air dried and replaced every two months.

The sea sponge

The sea sponge is a seaweed that can be handled like a washcloth. Extremely soft and hypoallergenic, it is used to clean the skin. Used by some women as intimate protection for menstruation, it respects the vaginal flora and guarantees an alternative to pads and tampons containing pesticides.

The loofah

This vegetable sponge is made from an exotic dried fruit that resembles a cucumber. It can be used to exfoliate even the roughest parts of the body. Cleansing your skin with a loofah will make it supple as it improves blood circulation.

There are two types of loofah, the Asian loofah and the Egyptian loofah. The first one dissolves when it is humidified. This mixture is applied directly to the skin. The second is hard and keeps longer. It is much more used in saunas and massage parlors than the Asian loofah.

Pumice

This volcanic rock is very popular in beauty centers. When the feet are covered with horn and rough, it is used to eliminate dead skin and soften the skin. A way to get back to baby feet. To be used however on a wet skin, by light rubbing, on all the dry parts of the body (feet, elbows). The Emeri file

Made of two-sided cardboard, the Emeri file is used to file and remove the nail filaments that remain after nail cutting. It is used like a classic glass file and makes the nails smooth and clean. Ideal for a perfect manicure!
