With all the external aggressions such as pollution and the sun or simply with the stress of everyday life, our skin is not always as beautiful as we would like it to be. The application of a simple day cream can not ensure a perfect skin texture. So how do you get a blemish-free complexion? Here are 10 tips and tricks to get an extraordinary glow.
Choose a suitable routine
To fight blemishes on a daily basis, it is important and even essential to adapt your beauty routine to your skin type and its problems. The first thing to determine is whether you have combination, oily or dry skin. We then focus on the details we want to correct: wrinkles, acne spots, sun spots… We then choose our cleanser, serum and cream accordingly.
Practice facial massage
Keeping the skin healthy means giving it more tone. The effective technique for relaxing features, preventing wrinkles and brightening the complexion? Self-massage of the face. When we apply our cream each morning, we use our thumbs to create skin movements from the inside to the outside of the cheeks. On the forehead and cheeks, we apply light pressure like small pinches to stimulate microcirculation.
Don’t leave out any area
The skin does not age in the same way in all areas of the face. The skin around the eyes, the neck or the Cupid’s bow (between the nose and the mouth) is thinner than elsewhere and therefore requires more attention. Be careful not to use more cream in this area, but rather a different product that is specific to the area.
Think about exfoliating
Exfoliation is essential to restore the skin’s radiance. It eliminates dead cells and allows the dermis to regenerate beautifully. This “beautiful skin” gesture, to be adopted once or twice a week, must be adapted to the type of skin and its problems. However, just like its version for the body, it is recommended for everyone!
Our advice / good address: treat yourself to a facial peel in an institute or at an aesthetic doctor’s. The process is similar to that of a scrub, but it is deeper and allows the skin to literally regain its youthfulness. If you do not have any acne or scarring problems, choose a gentle intensity that is better suited to your needs.
Adapting your diet
The impact of diet on the skin has been proven. But between the clichés repeated among friends and the advice given by grandmothers, we don’t know where to start. The first piece of advice is simple: drink plenty of water (and reduce your alcohol consumption as much as possible). As for the fridge, eat raw vegetables without moderation because they contain the essential combination of vitamins and fiber.
Rely on natural methods
Cosmetics are not the only agents of beautiful skin. Naturalists swear by a few clever ingredients that work miracles on the beauty of the dermis. At the top of their list: vegetable oils. From hazelnut and olive oil to the (rarer) prickly pear seed oil, they act like beauty masks on our face. Another exceptional ingredient: aloe vera. In juice or pure gel form, it moisturizes, softens and even plumps up!
Use at night to care for your skin
If during the day, the skin reacts mainly to protect itself from external aggressions… at night, it takes advantage of this to recover and repair itself! Studies show that the multiplication of epidermal cells is optimal at 1am. This is why you should apply specific beauty care products before going to bed. Whether it’s a night cream or a mask, you can find the products that suit you best by testing them over a period of several weeks.
Protect your skin from the sun
In summer, the sun seems like an obvious aggression for the skin. But it’s not just at this time of year that we should be wary of it. All year round, the face must be protected with products containing an effective SPF. UV rays are indeed extremely dangerous for the dermis and accelerate its aging. Of course, we adapt the protection according to the exposure but we keep in mind that it is indeed essential.
Don’t touch your pimples
This is the bad habit par excellence. When a pimple appears on our face and we start to tamper with it, we only risk bringing in additional bacteria. This can lead to an infection and the blemish will take twice as long to disappear. Is this really what we want?
Our advice / good address: Is your skin particularly prone to recurring blemishes right now? Go to an institute that will be able to offer you a facial purifying treatment that is more effective than all the products you can try at home. The place tested and approved: the Sisley spa.
Never miss the makeup removal step
Makeup removal is a step that should never be skipped in your beauty routine! It allows the skin to breathe better without being cluttered with impurities accumulated during the day. For an effective ritual, we recommend starting with the eyes and mouth with a specific product (for these more sensitive areas) and finishing with the complexion. A spritz of thermal spring water at the end of makeup removal is also recommended. As for texture, find the one that suits your skin: gel or mousse for oily skin, oil or milk for others.
